In the evening of April 15, 2018, Dillon Waters, a student from Institute of Technology Tallaght, Ireland, arrived at the Shanghai Institute of Technology and opened his 14 - day communication life.

In the first week of his arrival, in order to get him to become more familiar with the new environment, the members of Institute of Electrical Engineering took care of his meals and let him tasted almost all the most delicious food on the campus. At the same time, the members of Institute of Electrical Engineering took him to visit many landmark buildings, such as the library, botanical garden, locomotive Plaza, laboratory and so on. Dillon Waters likes the sea and hiking, so the members of Institute of Electrical Engineering accompanied him to go to the beautiful seaside and see the beautiful sea. There are many good memories and precious pictures. At the weekend, he went to the south bridge town to see a movie. He also went to downtown to see the famous Oriental Pearl TV Tower and tried many new things. Through a week of communication, both of the members of Institute of Electrical Engineering have a preliminary understanding of Dillon Waters, and also know a lot of his habits and interests.

In the second week, in order to make him more realistically aware of Chinese culture, the members of Institute of Electrical Engineering and Dillon Waters hold a little tea tasting , an exchange meeting about the differences between China and Ireland, an exchange meeting with postgraduate, and invite him to communicate with the sophomores of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering to exchange the dots of college life, also we hold a table tennis match for him. We also opened a small class of Chinese and Shanghai dialect class. At the end of Dillon's exchange life, the members of Institute of Electrical Engineering took him to KTV to sing songs, and gathered all the partners who had accompanied him to take interesting photographs and mounted them in the frame as a souvenir. When we finally sent Dillon Waters away, everyone was very reluctant to part. Two weeks of time made us good friends, and the two week life was a very precious memory for Dillon Waters and the members of Institute of Electrical Engineering.

From the initial dared to communicate to the fluent expression of what you think, from the original stranger to good friends, from a little fear in the heart to be reluctant to part, the members of Institute of Electrical Engineering and the Dillon Waters gained more than just academic exchanges, but more precious friendship. A short separation is for a better meeting, looking forward to the next encounter!
